Application Maintenance

Over the last years, documentation has been “of marginal importance” during the development of applications. Due to the pressure of time during projects, many applications are built, set up and delivered, but the question remains how these “matters” will be maintained. In many cases, a large number of different solutions have been developed but often for the same control system. This is very confusing for the operators and the maintenance engineers resulting in an increasing risk with regard to misinterpretations and mistakes.

A specification of “how it should be” is often a first step into the right direction. This document describes in clear terms how control standards, visualisation standards and applicable structures should be used.

Future projects can be developed based on this specification while already existing applications can be cleared of the accumulated clutter by means of migration scenarios or projects. Would you like to know more? Contact IAP.
